An energy-packed strategy game of cosmic proportions!

BLACK HOLE RAINBOWS is a turn-based game. There are 4 parts of a turn are described below.

LIGHT STONES come in 8 different colors, including Clear. Clear Light Stones are WILD and can stand in for any other color when completing the Rainbow (7 colors) in a Black Hole.

BLACK HOLES begin empty, and may only receive Light Stones during Part 2 of a Player’s turn or as directed by a Card. As Black Holes have extreme gravity, Light Stones can only come back out of a Black Hole through a significant event such as a Rainbow or Doomsday Card.

VISIBILITY is a prized trait in the cosmos. All of your Light Stones and Supernova Coins must be visible to the other Players, but Cards you should keep to yourself.

CARDS are interrupters! They can be played at any time, even during another Player’s turn. Announce when you are playing a Card, because that Card’s actions must be completed before play can resume. Cards must be played in sequence. Cards are prohibited only during the first round of play, but are active for use at any other time.

FINISH SETUP by having each Player reach into the woven bag and pull out 8 Light Stones. These Light Stones should be placed in your Hand (your Hand is the area on the table next to your Black Hole, but not in your Black Hole). Place remaining Light Stones from the woven bag onto the Outer Space mat. Deal each Player 3 Cards.

TO START, determine who goes first. Each Player rolls the Scatter Die until someone rolls “+1”. If there is a tie, have those Players roll again until only one person rolls a “+1”, and that Player goes first.

THE FIRST Player begins their turn, and play goes clockwise. Use the Field Guide card as a helpful reminder of the 4 parts of a turn. Remember, Cards can’t be used on your first turn.

WINNING is achieved by the first Player who collects the target number of Supernova Coins! Earn Supernova Coins by completing Rainbows, rolling Supernovas, or as otherwise indicated by Cards.
